Refugee by Alan Gratz (Historical Fiction)

"Refugee is the story of three different characters. These characters are not from the same time or area, but they share one common goal, to find a new place they can call home. All of them have been in horrible situations in which their country has turned on its own people, and is filled with danger. Josef Landau is a Jewish boy, from Berlin, Germany. He is 12 years old when the story takes place, in 1938. Josef's father is taken away to a concentration camp for being Jewish and practicing law. Six months later, the Landau family receives a telegram. The telegram states that Papa may be released, but only if he leaves Germany within 14 days. Josef's family is to go on a journey to Cuba, and they get reunited on board of the MS St. Louis. As the MS St. Louis heads toward Cuba, Josef learns more about his father, and what the concentration camp has done to him. Once the boat makes it to the land that he believes will change his life forever, Josef learns that the real journ

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard by Rick Riordan (Adventure, Fantasy, Myths)

This is the last book of the Magnus Chase trilogy. Although Magnus and his crew were able to get Thor’s hammer back, they couldn’t stop Loki’s real plan: his freedom. As the title suggests, Loki will launch Naglfar, the Ship of the Dead in a short time. The ship houses giants, zombies, and other mythological monsters ready to destroy the world. To counter this, Magnus will launch his own ship with his own crew to go on a quest to stop them. But how? Magnus, son of Frey, will have to do everything he can to stop Loki, or the world may just end. But is there anything he can do? Unlike most other heroes, Magnus isn’t suited for fighting. As a son of Frey, his ability ranges from healing other people, to talking with an animated sword. Not very heroic. This book will also feature some history on Magnus’s friends. Who is Mallory Keen? What is her godly heritage? And what were the past lives of Thomas Jefferson Jr. and Halfborn Gunderson like. As you read through the book, it will give you t

Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson (Fantasy, action, mystery)

The book Kingdom Keepers-Disney After Dark was a thrilling fantasy, action and a mystery book. This book revolves around five kids who every night when they fall asleep end up in the Magic Kingdom (in Disney World). All five of these kids have a D.H.I (Disney Host Interactive). This means that their digital holograms are tour guides in the Magic Kingdom. When they “crossover”, they appear at the park as their D.H.I. Any injuries that occur when the characters are crossed over will then affect their human bodies when they wake up from their sleep.  Their purpose in the book is to stop the evil force known as the Overtakers from controlling the Magic Kingdom. The Overtakers are a group of evil Disney characters from all the different thrilling Disney movies. The Overtakers consist of pirates, witches and many other evil characters from all over the Disney franchise. These evil characters are trying to take over the Magic Kingdom. In the kid’s adventure, where they are trying to stop the
