One of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus (Mystery)

On Monday, September 24, five students walk into Mr. Avery's detention. Brownwyn's the brain, with her plentiful smarts and a spotless record. Cooper's the athlete, with his talented and school-famous baseball pitching. Addy's the beauty, with a life that revolves around her looks, boyfriend, and becoming homecoming princess. Nate's the criminal, who's already on probation for dealing. Finally, Simon's the outcast, and the creator of the ""About That"" high school gossip app.
Despite their differences all these kids have one similarity- They've all ended up in detention when phones were found in their bags during Mr. Avery's lab. But the thing is, the phones weren't theirs.
By the end of detention Simon's dead and investigators say his death wasn't an accident, it was a planned out murder. With only the other four of them in the room during the time of the murder, and juicy gossip Simon was going to post about all four of them the next day, Bronwyn, Cooper, Addy, and Nate's life seems to crumble. As the four kids turn into murder suspects, and their secrets escape out into the public, their lives are flipped upside down.
Everybody knows their secrets, and everybody thinks they're murderers. These kids don't even know if they can trust each other. But after everything that has happened to them, each other are the only people they can talk too and trust.
They soon figure out that the four of them are being framed. Investigators refuse to look into that possibility, and only want to focus on the facts. So now with their futures on the line, it's up to the four of them to find out who really did it.

I love this book! For me, this book had it all: A juicy mystery, a bubbling romance, tons of suspense, and beautiful relationships building between the characters. This book will always keep you on the edge of your seat with twists and turns that are revealed in every chapter. I think any reader would enjoy trying to figure out the mystery along with main characters, as I did!
I loved everything about this book from the plot to the main characters! This plot took so many surprising turns all I wanted to do was just keep on reading. I loved how you found out information a little bit at a time, and it was so much fun guessing and making assumptions along with the characters. For me, the best thing about the plot was how complicated it was. It really made it one of the most interesting books I have ever read. Seeing the book from each of the four main characters perspectives was nice because you were able to get a better understanding of each of the characters. Seeing the story unfold in front of each of their eyes helped you as a reader understand every aspect of the mystery.
This book is perfect for anybody that loves a good mystery. This would also be an ideal read for anybody who loves action-packed books or movies. It's an irresistible and intriguing mystery, with snippets of romance, emotion, and even comedy weaved in and out. I truly think that anybody, no matter what genre they prefer would enjoy this book.I have no complaints about this book because I loved everything about it from beginning to end! I would have given it 5 star review if I could and overall, I encourage everyone to read this fantastic book!
