Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson (Fantasy, action, mystery)

The book Kingdom Keepers-Disney After Dark was a thrilling fantasy, action and a mystery book. This book revolves around five kids who every night when they fall asleep end up in the Magic Kingdom (in Disney World). All five of these kids have a D.H.I (Disney Host Interactive). This means that their digital holograms are tour guides in the Magic Kingdom. When they “crossover”, they appear at the park as their D.H.I. Any injuries that occur when the characters are crossed over will then affect their human bodies when they wake up from their sleep.  Their purpose in the book is to stop the evil force known as the Overtakers from controlling the Magic Kingdom. The Overtakers are a group of evil Disney characters from all the different thrilling Disney movies. The Overtakers consist of pirates, witches and many other evil characters from all over the Disney franchise. These evil characters are trying to take over the Magic Kingdom. In the kid’s adventure, where they are trying to stop the Overtakers, they find themselves making new friends and encountering new perilous dangers.

I believe that this book is a good book for a sixth-seventh grader. Something I liked about the book is the characters. I say this because they were each different so you needed all of them to stop the Overtakers. Something I didn’t like about the book is how few bad guys there were. In my opinion, if there could have been more bad guys, it would have been a bit more action based. This book made me feel like a bit scared at certain moments, which I liked. This book also sent chills down my back during parts of the book. At times, I felt like I couldn’t stop reading it because it had been so interesting. I wish I could be as brave as the main character Finn. He was brave because in order to stop the Overtakers he had to take a lot of risks that could endanger his life. My favorite character was Finn due to his personality. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!
