Pax, Journey Home by Sara Pennypacker (Historical Fiction)

Here is my summary of Pax, Journey Home by Sara Pennypacker. This beautifully written heartfelt book is about a young boy named Peter and his old pet fox, Pax. This story is the sequel to the book Pax. It tells the story of how the young boy takes a long journey away from his grandfather and Voila to find his beloved pet fox Pax and to see and embrace his old life which he left behind during war. On the way he helps one couple restore the water along a river and gets some very important discoveries and wisdom from them. He becomes close with them and they help each other out and form a strong bond. This book is not just from one perspective but also tells the story of his Pax and Pax’s journey and life with his mate Bristle and his three young kits.  It tells of his journeys to reunite with his owner Peter though he has not seen him in five years. Throughout ups and downs both sides of this book tell an interesting, wonderful story of how the connection between both animals and humans is strong and important and how even after distances it's important to stay close to loved and cherished ones.

I recommend the book Pax, Journey Home. I think it is a delightful book because it is well-written, interesting and is not too long or short. First, it is beautifully written because it is never confusing but the author is exceptionally good at expressing herself and she does it in a way where you can picture what she is saying but still be clear and not confusing. Next, I think this is an enjoyable book because it is interesting. The plot is never slow, it just keeps moving,  it makes you just want to keep reading, it is from two perspectives, and I think this makes it even more beautiful. It is like two stories woven together. Also, I think this is a wonderful book because it is the right number of pages, it gives you time to read and enjoy but it does not take a while to finish, and it is not noticeably short. Finally, I think this is an enjoyable book because of the message it shares and how it has an important lesson to be kind and always keep going and that hard work can lead to good things. That is my opinion on Pax, Journey Home and that is why I think you should read it.

She has always kept these mental illnesses from her friends because she was scared of what they would think. Her mind is constantly filled with dark thoughts and worries that she can’t let go off or turn off. Daily life is a struggle because she constantly questions her every action, idea, and statement. It also doesn't help that her lifelong friends will become toxic at the first sign of a wrong outfit, wrong lunch, or wrong crush.
