11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass (Fantasy Fiction)

Amanda and Leo were born on the same day at the same time. Every year they have a joint birthday party except for this one because of their silly fight. On Amanda's 11th birthday she wakes up to see a SpongeBob balloon floating around her room. As she walks downstairs her dad was coughing and sneezing and her sister was mad her because she knew she was snooping in her room. She had a regular day at school, took a pop quiz and at lunch her friend gave her a cupcake and were talking about her birthday party. After school she went dress shopping with her mom so her dad can set up for the party. Many of her friends didn't show up at her party because her ex best friend Leo was also having his party the same day and time. Amanda was upset because people started leaving her party to go to Leos party, so she went to her room to go to bed early. The next morning Amanda day started the same so she asked everyone why are you pranking me but nobody knew what she was talking about so she didn't ask any questions. In the middle of the pop quiz, Leo handed Amanda a note that said meet me at the courtyard during lunch. It was at that moment when Amanda thought something was weird because she took the same quiz yesterday and knew all the answers. At lunch she went to the courtyard to meet Leo. Because Leo and Amanda were born the same day and time, he thought to ask her if her day was repeating like his. She said yes, why is this happening? They were both confused but started to talk and apologize for their fight. Amanda's day continued to happen the exact same as the day before. On the third day of her day repeating, Amanda faked being sick so she can hang out with Leo and figure out why both of their days were repeating. The next day, everything went back to normal. Read the book to find out what other crazy things happened and how their life got back to normal.

My friend recommended this book and I'm glad that she did because I enjoyed reading the book. Throughout the chapters there were many opportunities for me to predict what was going to happen. I didn't always predict correctly which made it interesting to read how the author described a particular moment and I liked the twist and turns of the story. I think girls who are around 11 years old and like a good mystery would enjoy the book. It is a good page turner, I wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. The first day, I felt sad for Amanda because her friends left her party to go to Leo's. Day two must have been confusing for her especially because many bad things happened that she would not want to repeat again. I'm glad day three, her and Leo were able to hang out and figure out why both of their days were repeating but sad because they got in trouble for taking the scooters. Even though they had fun, the next day they learned their lesson and didn't take the scooters. When the days stopped repeating, Amanda was happy just as I would be.
